annotations #1

Hosseini uses diction, imagery and a simile to describe the how important this event is for Rasheed. Laila is about to give birth and another side to Rasheed is shown in this scene. These three literary  devices are used to help the reader picture the emotion that Rasheed is feeling at this moment where his wife is about to give birth, especially since he hasn't had children in over a couple of years. These literary devices show how important having children is to Rasheed, he finds pride in having a boy child so he's anxious to take Laila to he hospital and finally meet his "son".

  1. I really enjoyed this annotation. It helped a lot to understand Hosseini's writing style in his other books and this annotation also gave me some inner knowledge of a book I have not read before. Great annotation and your blog is really nice !
